We were looking for an idea, a form, a direction for the entire image of the wines. It was crucial for us to discover connections with the Russian culture to emphasize the origin of the wine and its ambitions.
Rosé
Rosé is not included in the classic line of wines, so it required an individual design. Rosé is a seasonal wine. People usually opt for it when they want a celebration, sparkling and vivid emotions, rather than thoughtful tasting. Thus, Rosé needed a distinctive solution.

We imagined an ice-cold bottle of wine standing among glacial ice, and it’s so smeltering hot outside that people want to take all their clothes off.
This is how a nude wine free of traditional labels was born.

It is also a statement that our rosé speaks for itself and needs no paper label. The bare minimum of words is printed directly on the glass.
Cosaque
The idea of an original name for a blend of red varieties belongs to the client. In this blend, two French varieties of vine are competing with two Russian native varieties. The French are much more plentyful, but Russian varieties taste stronger and quite brazenly push the foreigners into the background. That description, paired with historical events of 1812, created a certain context when we searched for the name.

There is a vivid expression in French “à la cosaque” - "brazenly, obtrusively". And the word 'cosaque' itself began to mean not only Cossacks, but also audacious people. This became the perfect parallel - the Russian varieties as Cossacs to the French vines.

We shot the sky over the vineyards at different time to show the character of each wine in the basic range.
BRANDING
Reserve
We created an unconventional elongated label, highlighting the terroir as a complex geometric pattern and incorporating subtle golden elements to emphasize the premium nature of the aged wines.
Krucha
We copied the relief of the high coast where the vineyards grow. The lighthouse is an easily recognizable symbol. And the label's wide shape added some playfulness to the communication with the customers.

The basic line is positioned as the wines to drink here and now, near where they are grown and produced. The coast, the resorts, the sea. For this line we created metaphors where ships and seascapes reflect the character of different wines.
Reserve
The label is inspired by the legend of the vineyards and the iconic symbol, the three-horned bull.

The idea was to make Alcotheca a synonym of a liquor store, like Home Depot is the synonym of a hardware store. We also wanted to keep Alcotheca a modern, presentable, and attractive brand.
